Since the website was set up, I have become a member of the scientific advisory board of Avenda Health, a startup company in Los Angeles, designed to drastically simplify the treatment for the majority of men’s prostate cancers. The Avenda Health platform delivers targeted treatment through focal laser ablation, minimizing the impact to healthy tissue. When compared to competing technologies, this ‘male lumpectomy’ is relatively inexpensive (no operating room), simple (local anaesthesia), and quick (under an hour).
